When you live in areas such as Northern Vermont, Upstate New York or the Dakotas there’s not much going on in the form of excitement or entertainment. Usually, you have to make your own fun. We’re hoping the 2009 Sno*Drift Rally, which takes place this year in Atlanta, Michigan (normally it floats around anywhere in Northern MI), becomes an annual event occurring in every state that gets more than an inch of snow all season.

Most prominent in any snow-based racing competition is the Subaru Logo. From brand new Subaru Impreza WRX to old school Legacy wagons outfitted with the latest suspension systems (and more powerful heat, hopefully) a day in the woods and a little bit of yellow snow isn’t going to slow anyone down.

Most people start praying to God when the backend of their car goes fishtailing in the ice, but these drivers revel in it. Thanks to Jalopnik and Alex Conley Photography for these great race shots!
